For the price ($120 for 60 minutes), I expected a skilled, therapeutic touch. Instead, I left feeling more tense than when I arrived. I’ve had better massages at chain locations for half the cost.

I visited A Madison Massage based on the glowing online reviews and the convenient downtown location. I was hoping for a professional, relaxing deep tissue massage to work out some stubborn knots. Unfortunately, the experience fell short of basic expectations. For the price ($120 for 60 minutes), I
The massage itself was mediocre at best. Despite requesting firm pressure, the therapist used inconsistent, light-to-medium pressure that felt more like lotion spreading than actual muscle work. The strokes were rushed, and there was no flow or intuition—it felt mechanical, as if the therapist was just going through a checklist. At one point, I could hear loud texting notifications from another room, which completely broke the relaxation. The room was also slightly cold, and the table warmer wasn’t turned on until halfway through the session. A Surprisingly Disappointing Experience at A Madison Massage

The booking process was easy, and the reception staff was polite. The space itself is clean and has a calming, minimalist aesthetic. My therapist was punctual and friendly upon greeting.
