(Entering from kitchen, wiping his hands) Boy, that’s the episode where the radio tower dies, right? You’re watching a deleted scene from the episode about losing things… while holding a disc that’s already obsolete. Streaming killed Blu-ray last year.
(To Meemaw, who’s knitting) This is not merely a disc, Meemaw. It is a polycarbonate oasis in a desert of magnetic tape. Unlike VHS, which degrades with each play and requires rewinding—a barbaric ritual—Blu-ray offers 1080p resolution and up to 50 gigabytes of storage.
Sheldon’s face falls.
She holds up a Blu-ray of S05E05 with “MISSY WAS HERE” scratched into the data layer. Sheldon screams—a silent, horrified scream.
