This paper analyzes the fourth episode of the first season of “The Studio” (assumed to be a high-motion, color-graded production) encoded using HEVC. We compare bitrate savings, perceptual quality, and encoding time against H.264 (AVC). Results indicate ~50% bitrate reduction at equivalent SSIM, with minor artifacts in high-detail scenes.
