A video recording from the earlier escape attempt in Miami (Season 4) resurfaces — one that shows Sara shooting and killing Christina Scofield, Michael’s mother, who was about to murder Michael and Lincoln. Though it was self-defense and Christina was a terrorist, the new evidence is leaked to the press. The authorities have no choice but to arrest Sara for first-degree murder.

As they flee, Michael starts bleeding from the nose — a sign of the brain tumor that was supposedly removed earlier. He hides it from Sara. The group reaches a dock where a boat waits to take them to Mexico. But prison helicopters are minutes away. Michael realizes the boat is too slow.
