I was curious about a maphack for StarCraft: Remastered , thinking it might give me an edge on ladder. Big mistake. First, most of these “free downloads” are packed with malware or keyloggers. Second, the one that “worked” got my account permanently banned within 48 hours – Blizzard’s anti-cheat is no joke.

Beyond that, cheating completely killed the spirit of the game. There’s no strategy, no suspense, no satisfaction in winning when you know exactly where the opponent is going.
