Innallaha wa malaa’ikatahu yusalluna ‘alan nabiyy. Ya ayyuhal ladheena amanu sallu ‘alayhi wa sallimu taslima. (O you who believe, send blessings upon the Prophet.) Brothers and sisters, All praise is for Allah

Allah says in the Qur’an: “If you are grateful, I will surely increase you [in favor]” (Qur’an 14:7). Gratitude is not just a feeling; it is an action of the heart, tongue, and limbs. We thank Allah with our hearts by recognizing His blessings, with our tongues by saying Alhamdulillah , and with our limbs by using His gifts in obedience. Let us begin by reminding ourselves to have taqwa — consciousness of Allah. Today, I want to reflect with you on two short but powerful words: Alhamdulillah (All praise is for Allah).

And the greatest way to show thanks is through prayer. Allah says: “Indeed, prayer prohibits immorality and wrongdoing” (Qur’an 29:45). Our Jummah prayer itself is an act of gratitude — leaving work, gathering together, and standing before Allah.
