Elena scoffed. "A game? Leo, I've commanded real bridge systems. A cartoon on a screen won't—"

She was standing on a virtual bridge. Not a cartoon bridge—a 360-degree panoramic view of a ship's control station. The radar spun. The ECDIS (electronic chart) showed a real coastline. She reached out with her mouse and touched the throttle. The engine room telegraph responded with a deep, digital clunk . nautis home ship simulator free download

She was home. What is Nautis Home Ship Simulator? It’s a stripped-down, home-user version of the same software used in maritime academies. The free demo is legal, safe, and distributed by the official developers (Nautis Simulation). Elena scoffed

Leo high-fived her. "Told you. Home ship. Free download." A cartoon on a screen won't—" She was

Elena nodded. "It's not the storms I miss, Leo. It's the feel . The rhythm. The way a home ship—a vessel you've lived on for months—responds to your touch like a living thing."

For the next hour, Elena forgot she was in an apartment. She maneuvered the Mercator out of a virtual Rotterdam harbor, wind coming from the northeast at 22 knots. She used the bow thruster—just like the old days. When a simulated fishing boat cut across her bow, she rang "Full Stop" without even thinking. The ship slowed, responding with a weight that felt hauntingly real.

That evening, Elena successfully berthed the Mercator without a tug—a move she hadn’t attempted since 2005. She sat back, smiling for the first time in weeks.

I’m glad to hear that you have a favorable view of Mint 14 as I am about to use it on my U120. Good to hear they fixed the wifi thing upon coming back from hibernate. That was annoying.

Although I did have issues with Linux Mint 12 and 13 on some machines, 14 is as stable. I installed it on a new Lenovo N series laptop with no failures, Mint found the braudcom and AMD drivers I needed and suggested they be installed. The system is clean and its fast and its stable. Installing other software from the Mint store is quick and easy. At this point in time, I am considering a completed shift away from windows and over to Mint 14 for business purposes. With this latest version of Mint, there is simply no reason for supporting Microsoft and their latest Frankenstein version of Windows (Windows 8).

Since Android is basically Linux, it should be logical that the future of Android devices and Linux distributions will be fully compatible, allowing the devices to intermingle with each other (another reason for giving up on the old dinosaur Windows). Business people who cannot see this eventual paradigm shift will be in reactionary mode in the future, as they attempt to scramble to and setup Linux for the business operations and hardware.
