The poem is attributed to Sayyid Muhammed al-Aydarus ibn Sheikh Abu Bakr al-Aydarus (commonly known as Nariyath Thangal or Nariyath Sayyid ), a renowned Sufi saint and scholar who lived in the 19th–20th century.
