Mia patted his shoulder. “We all have a blind spot, Grandpa.”
“I don’t,” Frank grumbled. “That’s the problem.”
He blinked. “That’s all?”
“Grandpa, it’s Windows. It’s been a thing for decades.”
For the rest of the afternoon, Frank rearranged his clean, spacious desktop. He even changed his wallpaper to a photo of himself holding a fish. You could see the fish now. It was a good day. make windows icons smaller
The icons shrank. They lined up neatly. The mountain lake reappeared. Frank could see his shortcuts for Chrome, Word, and that solitaire game he pretended not to play.
The folders piled up until “Homework” sat on top of “Taxes,” which buried “Vacation Photos.” Every time he installed a new program, another shortcut appeared. His wallpaper—a nice mountain lake—hadn’t been seen in months. Mia patted his shoulder
