Lily Starfire Pov May 2026

I grabbed my satchel, the leather still warm from where I’d been sitting. The journey ahead would be long. But I was Lily Starfire. I didn't need a torch, a lantern, or the sun.

The flames behind me bowed low, as if in farewell. Then they snuffed themselves out, leaving Kael alone in the sudden, absolute dark.

"The fire says my father isn't dead. And it's telling me exactly where to find him." I grabbed my satchel, the leather still warm

"Looking at the campfire like it owes you rent."

I was never cold. And I never, ever forgot a debt. I didn't need a torch, a lantern, or the sun

The embers of the campfire weren’t just light. They were mine .
