This paper provides a concise technical overview of Vista key types, their roles in activation, and legitimate scenarios where knowledge of these keys remains useful today (e.g., legacy system support, virtual machines, or offline recovery). 1. Types of Windows Vista Product Keys Unlike modern Windows versions, Vista used three distinct key categories:
