Note: Shammi Kapoor plays a double role – one is the cheerful, simple Ravi; the other is the cunning criminal Vichitra, who looks identical to Ravi. The story revolves around a case of mistaken identity due to two men who look exactly alike but have opposite natures.

Vichitra learns about Ravi’s existence and decides to use him as a scapegoat. He frames Ravi for his own crimes – theft, assault, and attempted murder. Ravi is arrested. Even Sapna and Ravi’s father begin to doubt him because the evidence is strong. jane anjane 1971
