Long ago, the kingdom’s beautiful princess, , was cursed by a vengeful water demon (a Jal Rakshas ) after she rejected his marriage proposal. The demon poisoned the lake, turning its waters black, and decreed that every full moon, one maiden from the kingdom must be sacrificed to him. Anyone who tries to break the curse without knowing the true meaning of selfless love will be dragged into the dark waters forever.
Hatim, Dilaram, and Humayun leave Jal Nagar. Humayun remarks, “You have found the fifth answer, Hatim. But the Jinn’s questions grow harder still.”
The demon asks Hatim:
Hatim realizes that the demon’s magic feeds on despair, fear, and selfishness. He looks into the dark water, sees his own reflection, and understands. He answers: “It is hope. Hope is more powerful than a king’s command, sharper than a warrior’s sword, and deeper than the ocean. Hope can break any curse, for even the darkest heart cannot extinguish it completely.” The demon shrieks. The lake begins to churn. Princess Neela’s spirit rises from the water, glowing blue. She whispers, “I waited… not for revenge, but for someone to believe in hope again.” She forgives the demon, who dissolves into mist. The waters turn crystal clear. The sun shines on Jal Nagar for the first time in years. Princess Neela’s spirit ascends to the afterlife, finally at peace. Princess Kajal is saved. The old king blesses Hatim. As a reward, the spirit of the lake grants Hatim a Lotus of Clarity — a magical flower that will reveal hidden truths when needed.
