Overall Rating: ⭐⭐⭐☆☆ (3/5) – Functional but archaic

As a legacy operating system, Windows 7’s handling of PCI (Peripheral Component Interconnect) drivers is a tale of two eras: It works beautifully for standard hardware from its heyday (2009–2015), but becomes a troubleshooting nightmare for modern SSDs, audio interfaces, or specialized cards.

If you must use Win7, download SDI Origin (Snappy Driver Installer) offline. It contains the last known working PCI driver packs for 99% of chipsets. Do not rely on Windows Update.
