Don’t chase OpenOffice on a Chromebook. Use LibreOffice in the Linux container — it’s the closest you’ll get to a full desktop office suite, with modern features and security updates. If your Chromebook lacks Linux support (older or managed device), switch to Collabora Office (Android) or embrace Google Docs completely.
