His hands trembled. He didn’t type. He moved his mouse to close the tab. The cursor became a spinning blue circle of death—the Chrome version of a shrug. He tried Alt+F4. Nothing. He tried Ctrl+Shift+Esc to kill the process. Task Manager opened, but Chrome wasn’t listed. No processes. No apps. Just the phantom tab.
