For the casual viewer, Chhichhore is perfectly watchable on Disney+ Hotstar or Netflix. But for the true fan—especially those who appreciate the film’s message that "life is not about wins and losses, but about not giving up"—the Blu-ray is a definitive edition. It offers the film as the filmmakers intended: visually stunning, sonically immersive, and supported by rich context. It’s not just a disc; it’s a time capsule of a beloved film and a tribute to Sushant Singh Rajput’s final iconic role.
While the digital age has shifted most home entertainment towards streaming and on-demand services, the Blu-ray release of Nitesh Tiwari’s 2019 coming-of-age dramedy, Chhichhore , remains a sought-after item for cinephiles and fans of the late Sushant Singh Rajput. Released by Reliance Entertainment and Fox Star Studios, the Blu-ray edition offers a tangible, high-quality alternative to the compressed streams available online. chhichhore blu ray
One challenge for international fans is that the Chhichhore Blu-ray is typically and Region C (Russia, parts of Asia) locked. Most standard European or Australian players (Region B) will not play the disc without a region-free mod. The disc is often listed on Indian e-commerce sites (like Amazon.in, Reliance Timeout) and occasionally on eBay or second-hand collector forums. Prices for a new copy have risen since the film’s initial release due to its cult status and limited pressing. For the casual viewer, Chhichhore is perfectly watchable
Check dedicated Blu-ray forums, Indian retailer websites (with shipping forwarders), or high-end collector’s markets. Be wary of bootleg DVD-R copies claiming to be Blu-ray. Authentic copies have the Fox Star Studios and Reliance logos on the disc art. It’s not just a disc; it’s a time
The message passed across “No Other Name” was certainly impressing but maybe it’s just me feeling like Broken Vessels (Amazing Grace) was the only song that is worth repeating over and over again. After setting the bar high with the release of last year’s Zion, I expected to hear something more powerful. The rest of the songs sounded like the Hillsong I used to know before Zion. I just felt the release of the album was too soon when I heard the announcement.
Hillsong is definitely one of those bands with ‘hit and miss’ albums. To me, I enjoyed this album thoroughly. Obviously when they do yearly albums (ZION was Hillsong UNITED actually, not Hillsong Worship!) some albums will resonate more so with different listeners. No worries if you didn’t like this album as much, I don’t think the band is concerned if they are universally liked or not!
Yeah “Broken Vessels” is pretty cool, and I think Taya Smith is one of those vocalists that will be big in the near future, for Hillsong and for CCM and worship music overall as well!
Yes, you’re right Josh. They changed their name to Hillsong Worship; perhaps that’s why they have a different sound. I will be looking forward to their next album. 🙂
