The plot follows Janine Teagues (Quinta Brunson) as she creates an online wishlist for her underfunded classroom, only to be hilariously (and cynically) one-upped by the veteran, burnt-out teacher Melissa Schemmenti (Lisa Ann Walter). Meanwhile, Principal Ava Coleman (Janelle James) delivers some of her most cringey-yet-hilarious lines as she tries to insert herself into a local news segment about the school. Gregory (Tyler James Williams) continues his slow, awkward thaw, offering deadpan reactions that land perfectly. Just don’t expect 4K classroom details

Season 1, Episode 3, titled “Wishlist,” is where Abbott Elementary really starts to find its rhythm.
